Review of SDI Marketing by ManagerPosted: Friday, 04 October 2019 - Mississauga
Unrealized potential For better or worse, this is probably the premier marketing company of its kind in Canada. The head office looks great and is a relaxed environment to work in. Consumer & Loyalty (C&L) has very low expectations for output from it's employees and can be generous with remuneration — which would likely be viewed as a con for a more tightly-run business. My criticisms are directed at the C&L division: First, the Etobicoke office seems to be superficially-driven in who is hired, promoted, rewarded. Also related to this point: There's far too much significant responsibility delegated to people who are simply not ready to handle it. People who — quite frankly — would never be entrusted with responsibility at any other company. This results in issues like incorrect scheduling/payroll, huge lapses in communication, being flippantly disrespected, and an overall carelessness toward job duties. It isn't commonplace for someone in their 20's to be working in an executive role, but in this company it is the norm. However, there's a reason people this immature are left to season for a few years before being tasked with huge portions of a company's business to look after.
